One of the most recent films I saw was Skyfall. It's the 23th James Bond film. It was directed by Sam Mendes and it was released on October 26th 2012.
The film begins in Istanbul, where James Bond and Eve are chasing a mercenary. Eventually, Bond and Eve corner the mercenary, who jumps on a moving train. Bond jumps on the same train and then Eve begins to follow him by car. They eventually reach a bridge and Eve accidentally shoots Bond, who falls on a river and gets lost, presumably dead. Due to this, M, the MI6 boss, decides to retire herself.
Bond, who miraculously survived, decides to return to London. Despite failing the examinations, he returns to the field. Bond has to go to Shanghai, where he has to kill Patrice, the mercenary, who had been located there. Bond meets with Patrice and then they begin to fight. Bond gets to kill Patrice, but he doesn't know his employer. Bond finds a gambling chip which leads him to a casino in Macau.
Bond meets Sévérine, who reveals the identity of the employer: Raoul Silva. Raoul was an MI6 agent, but he is a cyberterrorist now. He kills Sévérine, but Bond manages to capture him. Then, Bond takes him to London.
Q attempts to decrypt Silva's laptop, but inadvertently enables it to access the MI6 systems, allowing Silva to escape. Silva attacks M in a public inquiry, but M escapes with Bond. They both go to Skyfall, Bond's childhood home in Scotland. As a trap, Q leaves an electronic trail for Silva to follow.
Bond and M meet Kincade, the Skyfall gamekeeper. They are lightly armed, but they improvise a series of traps throughout the house. When Silva and his men arrive, M and Kincade escape through a secret tunnel while Bond prepares an explosion. Bond escapes through the tunnel and the house explodes killing most of Silva's men, but leaving Silva alive. When M and Kincade exit the tunnel, Silva spots them and begins to follow them. Bond finally arrives and kills Silva while he was trying to kill M, but M succumbs to her earlier wound and dies.
I really liked this film, even though it's the first James Bond film I've watched. I recomend it to everyone, because I think it's a really good film.
